Cynthia Kathryn Jones was born June 17, 1955 to Ellen Elizabeth (McClerin) and William Jones Sr. in Gary, Indiana.

She confessed her hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized at Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church.

Cynthia graduated from Emerson High School and later received her Bachelor of Science degree at Indiana University.  She was also a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.

She was a dedicated employee of Eli Lilly, retiring after 20 years of service.

Cynthia, or “CJ”, as she was affectionately known as, was a kind and generous person.  She enjoyed attending her home church, gardening, traveling and most importantly, spending time with her family.

Cynthia Kathryn Jones departed this life peacefully on Monday, March 2, 2020 at Community Hospital South.

Her father, William Jones Sr. and brothers, Steven Jones and Timothy D. Jones all preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memory: sons, Thomas Outlar Jr. (Ktrenia) and Timothy Outlar (Tameka); granddaughters: Maia Outlar, Tiffany Outlar, Trinity Outlar and Mariah Drake; grandsons, Antwon Baker and Marvin Drake; great-grandson, Ahmad Baker; mother, Ellen Jones; sister, Susan Bradford; brothers, William Jones Jr. (Cynthia) and Marlon Jones; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, loving family and friends.
