Barney Murray Jr.

Mr. Barney Murray Jr., the only child of Pete Murray Sr. and Minnie Kimbrough, was born June 3, 1933 in Chicago, Illinois. He resided in Chicago until relocating to Indianapolis, Indiana in 1940. Barney was a graduate of Arsenal Technical High School and was an award-winning basketball player.

In 1956, Barney was united in Holy Matrimony to Marcelean Davis and together they shared nearly 50 years of wedded bliss.

Barney retired from the International Harvester Company where he worked in manufacturing for more than 35 years.

He was a kind, caring and generous spirit. Barney enjoyed spending time with family and friends and he never met a stranger. He also enjoyed fine dining, sports, gambling, playing cards and relaxing. Barney showed unconditional love to his entire family and was always willing to sacrifice for the sake of others.

Mr. Barney Murray Jr. departed this life on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at the age of 88 years. His parents, Pete and Minnie; son, Ronald; and wife, Marcelean all preceded him in death.

He leaves behind his loving daughters, Minnie Murray and Michelle Mason (Charles); eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a host of loving family and friends. Barney will be missed, but never forgotten.
